Sa Barcella Village House

Sa Barcella is not a hotel and has no wish to be one. It is a large village house of 360 square metres with five double rooms and five bathrooms, which you share with the other cyclists of the week. Anyone who has been here before knows: after two days you know each other, and after three you are sitting round the barbecue together in the evening.

The heart of it is the courtyard, a classic Mallorcan patio where breakfast is laid out in the morning. The lady of the house and her helpers take care of that, and so well that our guests mention it in every review. Behind it lies the pool with its chill-out corner, lit in the evening; in front, the lane, and a hundred metres away the market square of Sineu.

Sineu itself is the centre point of the island, with the oldest market on Mallorca on Wednesdays, with cellers serving frit and shoulder of lamb, and with a railway station in case you fancy Palma on a rest day. For the sternfahrt the position is ideal: every stage starts at the front door.

Sa Barcella comes in two versions

As the Sternfahrt Ariany/Sineu with the full works (transfers, pa amb oli, wine tasting, breakfast) or as the Sternfahrt Sineu BASIC with breakfast, maps, GPX and hotline but without the extras. Same stages, same house: you decide how much of a complete package you want.
